M.A. Inclusive and Special Education

Course profile

The course concept is generally committed to the paradigm of inclusion with the aim of guaranteeing and ensuring participation in the context of healthcare. It is conceptually designed to increasingly establish curative education in the healthcare system and to expand the curative education fields of work in this context. The aim is to improve the educational-therapeutic care structure for people with disabilities by analyzing existing and developing new intervention services.

The course is characterized by

the clinical orientation of curative education and therapeutic work in the fields of health care, child and youth welfare, care for the disabled and the elderly
the project and practical orientation within the curative education center with its sophisticated equipment of teaching and learning materials and in cooperation with various institutions in the field of curative education
the differentiated qualification through a broad spectrum of teaching and research opportunities as well as personally chosen specialization areas

Professional fields of activity are open to Master's graduates here, for example:

  • Acute care and rehabilitation clinics
  • Counseling centers
  • Early intervention centers
  • Social pediatric centers
  • Child and adolescent psychotherapy and psychiatry practices
  • Inpatient and day-care facilities for children and young people as well as for the disabled and elderly
  • and many more.

Academic requirements

  • Bachelor's or diploma degree in inclusive education or
  • Degree in a related course of study such as social work, education, psychology with 100 days of professional or practical experience in a curative education field of work amounting to 100% or a corresponding full-time equivalent.
