Studis international

Networking internationally on campus in Freiburg, gaining new perspectives and getting to know each other – those are the diverse program aims of the student group, Studis International.

Organized by students, the group offers a variety of meet-up opportunities for exchange students and students who are interested in international and interdisciplinary exchange and are curious about meeting new people. Of course, all University staff are also invited to network with the group and take part in events.

The Studis International group is coordinated by the University's International Office. Group members implement numerous programs and activities.

If you want to become part of the student group, please get in touch: international@kh-freiburg.de.

Organized by the International Office, the Buddy Program brings exchange students and KH students together. Over the course of the program, you can expand your intercultural competence, improve your language skills and gain new perspectives.

The Buddy Program enables international exchange students to have a smooth start at the University: KH students support the newly arrived students in finding their way around everyday and University life.

As a participant in the program, you will be assigned to buddy tandems or teams.
Together you will take care of administrative tasks that await exchange students when they arrive in Freiburg, take part in activities and provide advice on questions about life in Freiburg and studying at the KH.

For KH students, the Buddy Program is part of the Supplementary International Teaching Program (ZINT). Participation also increases the chances of receiving funding for international study and internship/practice placements.

Would you like to become part of the Buddy Program next winter semester? Then get detailed information in the ILIAS course.
You can also contact the Buddy Program coordinator with your questions and/or to register to take part in it.

Take a lovely break from your day and make international contacts while sipping a cup of coffee or tea in the KH Café International. It is a fabulous setting for mutual exchange where students can get to know each other. Furthermore, it is a wonderful chance to practice and improve your language skills in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere.
Come and get to know us and each other over free coffee or tea!
We also provide snacks.

During each semester, the Studis International group meets every week to enjoy a leisurely and informal gathering:
When? Always Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m..
Where? KHG Café (the north side of Building 2.))

Students, University personnel and guests from around the world regularly play an active role in shaping campus life through evenings that feature a specific country.
These ”specific country evenings” are a chance to experience the diversity of the world’s individual nations from right here in Freiburg. Each one has its own flair and can include learning country-specific historical facts and geographical data, gaining current socio-political insights, and enjoying cultural highlights such as a traditional group dance, dish or music.
We are convinced that learning from each other is enriching for everyone.
This is why incoming students have the opportunity to share their insider perspectives about their home countries with all members of the KH.
Students, lecturers, researchers and administrative staff are all welcome to attend the regular events.
The specific country evenings take place during the semester and are advertised via notices on campus and other means.

Get to know Freiburg and its surroundings together! The Studis International group offers are one way to make that happen. Among other things, Studis International organizes numerous leisure time activities.
These include: walking in the Kaiserstuhl, spending an evening at the municipal theatre, cross-country skiing in the snowy Black Forest, taking a city tour or visiting the Christmas market. By taking part in activities like these, you can experience the diversity of the region together with students from different degree programs and countries! You are also welcome to contribute your own ideas and suggestions.
Upcoming leisure-time activities are advertised with the help of notices on campus, information on the monitors at the KH and other means. You can also contact the KH International Office for general information about upcoming, planned activities.
